Why testing hormones and DNA is key to great female health

Throughout our 30, 40, 50s and beyond, our hormones are ever changing. Unbalanced hormones contribute to a plethora of female health conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, PMS, breast and uterine cancer, lupus – the list goes on. Testing the levels of your hormones both on their own and in relation to others, - seeing what they are actually doing - is key in identifying any risk and rebalancing hormonal health, and as I’ve seen in clinic, turn your health around.

As it is International Women’s Day, for March I am offering the full package of a DUTCH Plus or DUTCH Complete test and a DNAoestrogen test from Nordic labs along with a 90-minute one off consultation. The cost is £500 & £450 respectively, and it will be open until March 31st only.

Why should I do the DUTCH and DNAoestrogen test?

The DUTCH test measures levels of sex and adrenal (stress) hormones and the products they make (metabolites). It gives us representation of how best to support these pathways, hormone levels and to optimise the stress axis. This is a test I use a lot in clinic for concerns as listed before but also:

· Depression

· anxiety

· Fatigue

· Low libido

· Menopause symptoms

· PMS

· Weight gain

It shines a light on areas in our hormonal system that need attention through diet, lifestyle and possibly supplementation.

But it gets better, Nordic Labs are offering in March a FREE dnaoestrogen test (worth £156) which provides an analysis of the genes in involved in the process of oestrogen metabolism (how we break it down and excrete it after use) and details appropriate diet, nutraceutical and lifestyle areas to assist in disease prevention.

These two tests together give unparalleled insight in to your hormonal balance, gene variation and how we can improve oestrogen metabolism and hormonal health. It’s incredibly beneficial for many conditions such as oestrogen dominant conditions (fibroids, fibrocystic breasts, PMS, endometriosis) or where there is a family history of breast, ovarian or uterine cancer.

To book please email gemma@wildapplenutrition.co.uk and I will get your test kits sent to you. Once you have completed your DUTCH and DNAoestrogen test we can book in your 90-minute analysis. Current clients please contact me directly as you can also benefit from this offer.

“You are born with a set of genes that you cannot change during your lifetime. What you can do, is influence the manner in which these genes are expressed. There is a strong relationship between the genes we carry, and the nutritional, medicinal and lifestyle choices we make. dnaoestrogen® provides an analysis of the genes involved in the process of oestrogen metabolism, and details appropriate diet, nutraceutical, and lifestyle recommendations to optimize metabolism and assist in disease prevention”.
